Actually, I've been working with modal dialogs recently in both Moz and IE.  For Moz, you can look at this page http://www.mozilla.org/xpfe/xulref/windowref.html#open (under open()). Basically, you just have to add some things to the third parameter (windowFeatures).  I believe the ones you need to add are "dialog" and "modal".  If you need to return a value from the modal dialog, its a little tricky. What you can do is call a function in the parent window and pass whatever value from the modal to that function and close the modal.

Hello,

Has anyone made modal dialogs with Mozilla?

I need to open modal dialogs in Mozilla. I've seen that there is a openDialog method, but when called from a web page, it triggers a security error. I suppose that this method is only for XUL components. Am I right?

Anyway, does anybody know of a functionality like IEs ShowModalDialog in Mozilla?

Thank you
