Could do, except that'll increase bandwidth used somewhat. And the translators for the non-english languages will have to take account of that.
I'll play around with trying to write the charset as a meta tag into the new documents.

I'm not sure what encoding a new window populated with document write is using. Can't you use entities instead?
I'm using DHTML Menu 4.28, and love it! However, if I use certain characters, such as ã, õ, ç, é, á, º, they're not displaying properly in the menus. Content-encoding is set to iso-8859-1, and the characters display fine on other pages within the application.
Any idea what to do about this?
Does the menu enforce a different charset?
