I also have the same problem and the different fixes do not work. Has someone as serious solution to this stupidity.

Thanks in advance for the reply.

The password is only needed in admin mode. I think you have tried to run the adminSettings.html as a stand alone. Use the login.html or write the following url

   /index.cgi?action=admin&pwd=Your_Password

The password is located at the top of the data file and is by default set to password at the beginning. This should bring up the message board and from here you can launch the settings dialog.

Hi,

i really have to compliment you for this fantastic web board.

I have been struggling setting it up on my web hotel, and finally it seems to be "almost" running! But i keep getting the error message from the subj.

What is this, any hints?

/Søren

Could it not be that we are not getting access from the index.cgi to the admin/data. I tried renaming this file without changing the settings in index.cgi and nothing changed. Still got Invalid Password. On my NT box with IIS 4, System has full access to admin directory and IUSER_Servername has write, change and delete writes. I also tried giving IUSER full access but this changed nothing.

Also, when viewing the data file in notepad, the carriage return after the password is an unknown character. Possibly a case of different character sets, maybe? (to the Unix version)

This is driving me up the wall.

David
