DatePicker bugs?, Erik Dybdahl, March 12, 2003

Subject: Re:DatePicker bugs? From: Erik Dybdahl Date: March 12, 2003

Follow-up:

In my case a form is submitted on date change.
Since changing the month is not actually a date change, there should be two different onchange-methods, one for date-change, another for month-change (the default case being that they are identical). Also, when changing month the date should be deselected (if so desired).

Finally, a future enhancement request:

Let me specify an array of "moveable holidays" , which will then be marked red. Eg. ["2003-04-20", "2003-05-17", "2003-05-29", ...

Hi,
After som study I have this beautiful calendar working! Don't know if the problems I experienced are bugs or what, but here are my observations anyway:

1. Inserting the exact code from demo.html into a large html file caused my IE5.5 to give up with an ugly error message after having displayed the DatePicker (similar to the error reported 2003-01-16, I guess: http://webfx.eae.net/webboard/index.cgi?action=display&group=data/group3&id=471).
So I ended up putting the calendar in a separate window.

2.Following the API doc I instantiated DatePicker without any Date argument. This did not work.

In addition, a mechanism for changing (localising) the text for the "Today" and "None" buttons should be implemented, in the same way as day letters and month names.

Regards,
erik d.
