I agree.
I just noticed that onmousedown in IE wont trigger sometimes, if set using setAttribute().
- I also noticed that the attribute-value is retrieved using 'value'..?

document does not have a property called innerHTML so that line is bogus.

function t1()
{
alert( "running" );
}

function teste()
{
var xyz = document.createElement("DIV");
document.getElementsByTagName("body")[0].appendChild( xyz );
if ( xyz.addEventListener )
xyz.addEventListener( "mousemove", t1, false );
else if ( xyz.attachEvent )
xyz.attachEvent( "onmousemove", t1 );
else
xyz.onmouseover = t1;
}

You should also remember that you should create TBODY, TR, TD and text nodes to make the table complete.

Mikael: You do not need to set/reset innerHTML. Changing innerHTML is usually considered harmful because existing elements are detached from the document and new ones are created and therefore exisiting code might break. (See MS smart navigation which totally breaks pages that contains client side scripting.)
