It turns out that if you open the client page via a file URL, you get this error.  If you open the page via HTTP, everything is fine.

Ok.  I am trying to build a server to pass tree nodes to xml load tree.  I've got Tomcat 5.0.19 on W2K.  The URL properly returns xml that conforms to the tree.dtd specification.  It seems unlikely though that I am even getting that far because I get the following javascript error on the client:

Error: uncaught exception: Permission denied to call method XMLHttpRequest.open

The client is mozilla 1.6.

Thanks,

Rick
