To see the content type you can either telnet to the file or use Mozilla and check the "Page Info".

You cannot use XML files from other domains due to security limitations of a web browser.

The XML is well formed... I tried opening it in IE and it displayed the xml tree structure right. How do I set the content type to be text/xml? Here is a sample xml for eg.
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<tree>
<tree text="Siemens AG">
<tree text="Siemens Limited" />
<tree text="Widia Group of Company">
<tree text="Widia chemicals" />
</tree>
<tree text="Siemens Agro" />
</tree>
<tree text="TXU Corporation">
<tree text="TXU Power systems" />
<tree text="TXU Europe">
<tree text="TXU Europe Energies" />
</tree>
</tree>
</tree>

No server limitations what so ever. However you must make sure that the content type is correctly set to "text/xml" and that the result is well formed XML.

Hi...
I was trying to use your xmlload tree script. As told I tried using it on a web server (weblogic). It works fine on Netscaape. But I get a message: error loading "tree.xml" in the statusbar for IE. I tried changing the code on your xml path in demo.html to http://localhost:7001/ft-test/tree.xml, but still I get the same error. But when I gave http://www.webfx.eae.net/dhtml/xloadtree/tree.xml as the path, though it gave a security alert it worked fine. Is there any constrainsts pertaining to webservers for your script?
