May be this is the solution in my opinion.

You can use ADO Recordset Object 's Saveing method to save your recordset as a file or stream.
Recordset.save Destination,Persistformat
And then use Response Object to output your content.
Here is an example:
<%
'Creat a adodb Stream object to save the data from recordset
set XMLStream=Server.CreatObject("Adodo.Stream")
'Xmlrecordset is the recordset u have created
Xmlrecordset.save XMLStream,adpersistXML
'Save it toXMLStream as XML
'Response it use this
Response.write XMLStream.Readtext
%>

I was wondering if I could create a dynamic xTree using ASP within the .js file... is this possible? I want the tree to load items from a database.

My question is, will the server process the ASP within the .js file? I believe it would not, so how can I resolve this? I guess I *could* use xmlLoadTree, but then I would have to update the xml file everytime a new record is added to the database...
