Hi Brian,

I realised this shortly after making this post, because there was some service methods I was hooking the object up to, that were locked to windows authentication.

However, there seems to be caviats with this because of the problems I got prompting me to make the initial post.

Unfortunatley I'm not back at work for a week or so, but when I get back I'll see if I can piece together a testcase.

Thanks again Brian

Tim

I'm not familiar with SSPI, but the Microsoft XMLHTTP object does support native Windows (challenge/response) authentication in addition to cleartext.

As far as I can tell, the Microsoft http type components only allow cleartext authentication, I need SSPI. Any ideas?

I was thinking along the lines of surplanting the XMLHTTP stuff with liveconnect to an embedded .NET binary so I could use the .NET tools for consuming (and caching) the data. This would of course require the .NET framework and IE on the client.

Thanks

Tim Scarfe
