This subject is huge. I'm just going to say a few things.

Java requires installation of Java Runtime Engine (JRE). This is available from Sun but it is very large and not many people have that installed. Microsoft has a JRE as well but it is very outdated. This has lead to problems where most Java applets are made so that it still works with the MS JRE. Java is not zero footprint. It requires a plugin to be installed.

Java is a plugin and does not interact well with a normal web page.

Java has a longer startup/initalization time than DHTML because it requires the JRE to be started. The Javascript engine is started with the browser.

Java applets are bigger to download because they contains byte code (low level instructions).

Java is faster for doing heavy calculations but slower when it comes to interaction with the environment.

Would do anyone reply me, please?

>> Thanks.
