 AREA is not Object?(in IE), Garfield, September 16, 2003

Subject: AREA is not Object?(in IE) From: Garfield Date: September 16, 2003

I'm in trouble with image MAP - <AREA> object.

Why I cannot get an AREA object(I tested it only for IE)?

See below the skeloton code;

<map name="map1" id="map1">

<area id="area1" shape="rect" coords="0,0,100,20" href=http://webfx.eae.net/">

<area id="area2" shape="rect" coords="100,0,200,20" href="/any">

objMapArea = document.getElementById("area1");

// refer area1's href property: http://webfx.eae.net/

// but AREA's property(like coords) is work well

objMap = document.all.map1;

objAreas = objMap.children;

nArea = objAreas.length;

for (var i=0; i<nAra; i++)

objAreas[i].coords; // working well for property but not object itself
