Subject: Figuring out the position of an element inside an iframe relative to the browser edge From: Michael Sheakoski Date: September 13, 2003

Hello, lets say I have a <div> inside of an iframe and want to know how far from the top/left it is from the main browser window.  I tried .clientLeft and .offsetLeft but they give me the position relative to the iframe, not the main window.  Is there a way to figure this out?  On top of this problem, I need to account for nested iframes.  So there might be my main.html which contains an iframe pointing to sub1.html which also contains an iframe pointing to sub2.html.  This has been bugging me for weeks now.  Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,
Mike
