Good day

This is a know problem caused by the cookie implementation in xTree that uses one cookie for each node, and since there is a limit of (20?) cookies for each site this is exceeded for large trees.
PHP usually uses cookies for session handling and if the limit has been exceeded the php cookie may be lost.

The obvious solution here is to disable the xTree persistence functionality (check the api docs, there's a method for it).

Hi!
I use the excellent xTree script in one of my sites, but I'm running into a small problem.
If I have a tree with a small amount of nodes, everything's fine, but if I have a tree with 400+ nodes, then I have problems with my PHP sessions (I know it sounds weird, but please bear with me).
This happens: if I expand or collapse the tree using tree.expandChildren() or tree.collapseChildren(), the tree is opened or closed as needed. If I then click on a node (to open a page in another frame), the session is invalidated! Also, all other cookies set by my site are deleted/ empty.
I guess that because of the large size of the tree, IE might be having trouble writing the cookie(s). Maybe the max cookie size is being exceeded?
What I'd like to know is how to disable persistence (I don't need it anyway, because the tree is generated dynamically), and does disabling persistence stop the tree script from writing a cookie?
Thanks for taking the time to build this excellent script, and for looking at my question!
Alex
