Subject: [Mozilla DOM] getter for existing properties/attributes From: Martijn Date: August 6, 2003
Hello Erik,

I can't hook in a getter for existing properties/attributes in Mozilla. It goes wrong. I used this example:
<html><head><title>U</title></head>
<body>
<input type="text" disabled="disabled" id="test" value="test" />
<button onclick="test()">test</button>
<script type="text/javascript">
var xtemp=document.getElementById('test');
function test(){
alert(xtemp.disabled);
}
HTMLInputElement.prototype.__defineGetter__("disabled", maak);

function maak(){alert('test');}
</script>
</body></html>
It returns two alert boxes:
the first one is 'test'
The second one is 'undefined'
And that is where I expected 'true'.
Why does that happen? Do you know the answer?

At the fronpage of the animator toolkit, I get a little 'n' moving around the animator headline, instead of a dot. Why is that? I think it has something to do with choosing webdings as font-family, right? In Mozilla1.0 it is still working.
And in the next sample you have a broken image, so I can't see anything in Mozilla.

Kind regards, Martijn
