document.write is faster.

Using XML/XSLT and innerHTML should not be an issue as long as no circular references are added by your script. IE does garbage collection at runtime and therefore the old objects should be collection.

What's the inside scoop on using innerHTML ... ? If I did XML/XSL transformations and used innerHTML on a container DIV for search results, would it eventually cause too much of a memory load?
Would it be better instead to use an Iframe and document.write() ?
