Idris,

I prefer to put an absolutely positioned div "covering" the whole page. You need to give it a background though. This not only changes the cursor but equally important a user can't click on links and such during the "wait state". And you don't have to traverse the DOM to modify styles back and forth.

.waitDiv{ cursor:wait;background-image:url(pixclear.gif);z-index:10;position:absolute;}

var div= document.createElement("div");

div.setAttribute("id","waitLayer");

div.setAttribute("className","waitDiv");

document.body.appendChild(div);

Thanks,

/Jonas

Does anyone know of a way to do a "global" cursor change on a page? For example while loading, I want the cursor to change to an hourglass, then change back later. However, if I do this now, for example on the body, the cursor still changes back to a hand when you mouseover a link. How can I make it stay the hourglass no matter where the mouse is?
