Gee, thanks. So make sure object is available at time of execution...

Element xxx is not available yet when the javascript gets executed.

This will work:

<script type="text/javascript">
window.onload=function(){document.getElementById('xxx').innerHTML="a";};
</script>

<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
document.getElementById('xxx').innerHTML="a"
</script>
</head>

<body>
<div id="xxx"><div>
<br>
</body>

</html>

Am I doing something wrong?
